A demake of Kobo Deluxe/XKobo, an Bosconian-style open source 8-directional shooter, Kobo64 is quite an amazing achievement. The original was reknown for its brutal difficulty, almost bullet-hell gameplay and procedurally generated levels - all of which survived the conversion intact.

Like the original, the insane difficulty is countered by a neat little password system, and the GS-friendly full-joystick control makes Kobo64 a great contender for a future cartridge release. This one is a real treat for both fans of Kobo Deluxe and newcomers alike.

The Kobo Deluxe like game ' Kobo64 ', which was coded by Soci, music by 6R6 and graphics by Poison and Soci. If you like multi-directional bullet hell shooters, with tons of levels and a great music to match, you're going to love this game. As not only will it keep you occupied for hours on end, but it's also considered a port of Kobo Deluxe; an enhanced version of Akira Higuchi's game XKobo for Un*x systems with X11.

Right from the word go you'll be impressed with the music playing from the main menu and into the game itself, but once the action hots up as you try your utmost to take out the orb like turrets and the center core of the enemy, you'll be pulled in at just how fun Kobo64 is. But don't think it's over after 1 level, as this game features a massive 50 levels, 10+ enemy types, AI and much more to make this a very worthy game indeed!
